I prepare for your story.
When records are provided ahead of time, I review the medical history, previous tests and treatments before we meet. Some cases involve hundreds of pages. I want to know what has already been tried, not simply begin again.

Perhaps you’ve been searching for answers for months. There have been appointments, tests, treatments—and still questions. I know how much that uncertainty can weigh on a family.
I’m Dr. Lawren. I take the time to understand the journey so far, listen to what matters to you, and guide you through the decisions ahead.
Care begins with connection.Care that begins before we meet
By the time we meet, you may have spent months—or longer—searching for answers. Every previous investigation, treatment and observation is part of your pet’s story. I want to understand that journey before recommending what comes next.
When records are provided ahead of time, I review the medical history, previous tests and treatments before we meet. Some cases involve hundreds of pages. I want to know what has already been tried, not simply begin again.
Our veterinary nurses take a fresh history and assess your pet. When we meet, I’ll ask you what’s going on and examine your pet. Your perspective adds something no medical record can fully capture.
There may not be an immediate answer. I’ll explain what I think may be happening, what remains uncertain, and which next steps may help. We’ll talk through the options and anticipated costs so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

Meet Dr. Lawren
I'm a board-certified small animal internal medicine specialist. I love the intellectual challenge of difficult cases, but the part of my work that stays with me is the relationship I build with patients and the people who love them.
My work brings me a concentrated experience of unusual, persistent and difficult-to-manage conditions. I use that experience to assess complex histories, identify what deserves a closer look and develop thoughtful recommendations for each patient.
My interest in hospice and palliative care reflects that same philosophy: the right decision is the one that takes the individual patient and their quality of life seriously.

For pets living with chronic or complicated illness, good care may mean finding a sustainable treatment plan, recognizing when things change, or focusing on comfort and quality of life. I’ll explain my recommendations clearly, help you understand the trade-offs and remain involved when specialist guidance is needed.

For veterinary colleagues
I work with veterinary colleagues who turn to me for another perspective on complex internal medicine cases. I take responsibility for providing a careful specialist assessment, clear recommendations and communication that helps everyone understand the plan.
