How I can help
When a case is complex, chronic or not responding as expected, a referral can provide specialist perspective and more time to work through the history, findings and options.
We allow time for owners to ask questions and understand the reasoning behind each step. We discuss diagnostic priorities and likely costs openly, with recommendations grounded in the needs of the patient rather than a fixed testing pathway.
Common reasons to refer
Diagnostic workups for challenging medical conditions.
Individualized management and long-term follow-up.
Specialist assessment and coordination of appropriate testing.
Thoughtful treatment, comfort and care-goal discussions.
What to expect
Before the consultation: we review the clinical history and previous investigations where available.
During the consultation: we make time for a detailed discussion, explain our thinking and work through appropriate options and likely costs.
After the consultation: we communicate findings and recommendations with the referring veterinarian so ongoing care stays coordinated.
We respect the relationship you have built with your client. Our role is to add specialist support and keep you informed, not to replace the primary veterinary relationship.

Shared care
We work alongside the primary veterinarian, with clear recommendations and respectful communication. Our existing secure online referral form lets your clinic submit a case, attach records and choose an internal medicine consultation or doctor-to-doctor case review. For an initial question, please contact the team.
